Professionalizing During Your Studies

By choosing an apprenticeship, our students have the opportunity to blend their academic studies with practical experience in renowned companies, leading sports organizations, and specialized agencies. This allows them to apply theoretical concepts learned in the classroom in real-world settings, thereby enhancing their understanding of the sports business sector.

Apprenticeship provides students with the chance to build a strong professional network, acquire skills sought after by employers, and become familiar with current trends and challenges in the world of sports. This often translates into promising career prospects upon graduation.

At Sports Management School, apprenticeship represents an open door to dynamic learning, increased employability, and seamless integration into the sports business industry. It's a valuable opportunity for our students to shape a promising future in this ever-evolving field.

Apply Your Knowledge in a Real-world Environment

By directly integrating into a workplace, students have the opportunity to put into practice the concepts covered in the classroom, work on tangible projects within industry companies, and observe how the principles of sports business are truly applied. This immersion in a professional environment allows for a deep understanding of the real challenges in the industry, fosters the development of practical skills, and provides a meaningful experience that prepares our students to excel in the dynamic field of sports business.

Alternating Internship in sport

An alternating internship is halfway between a traditional internship and an apprenticeship. It typically lasts longer than a regular internship (6 to 10 months), and the student's status is not the same as in the case of an apprenticeship. The alternating internship follows the scheduled training calendar, consisting of 3 weeks in the company and 1 week of Bachelor-level training, or 4 days in the company and 1 day at school in the MBA program. The hosting structure may fully, partially, or not at all cover the student's training fees, a negotiation that takes place between the student and the company. The school can provide support in any case. Regardless, since the internship exceeds 2 months, the student receives compensation at least equivalent to the current legal remuneration. The interest of the alternating internship is to provide immersion in the professional world, allowing the student to apply theoretical knowledge.

Apprenticeship

An apprenticeship contract is a written fixed-term (CDL) or indefinite-term (CDI) employment contract between an apprentice and an employer. It allows the apprentice to undergo alternating training in the company under the responsibility of a mentor and at an apprenticeship training center (CFA) for 6 months to 3 years. The apprenticeship contract follows the scheduled training calendar, with 3 weeks in the company and 1 week of Bachelor-level training, or 4 days in the company and 1 day at school in the MBA program. Since January 1, 2020, funding is provided by the skills operators (OPCOs), according to a level set by professional branches based on the field of activity of the title or diploma sought (or, failing that, by decree, especially when the training has never been provided through apprenticeship). For contracts longer than one year, funding is granted for each year of contract execution. Funding is prorated for the last year of contract execution. In case of early termination of the apprenticeship contract, payment is made on a pro-rata basis of the apprenticeship contract duration. This formula allows for a unique long-term experience as a true company employee (1 week at school – 3 weeks in the company). Additionally, it guarantees a salary ranging from 27 to 100% of the minimum wage depending on age and education level. The interest of the apprenticeship contract is to combine theoretical education with practical application within a company, allowing the student to obtain a qualified diploma at the end of their studies.
